If you would like to be kept up to date with the upcoming lists, please subscribe to my newsletter by clicking this link. I don’t send out letters too often, pretty much once a month when this list goes out… and occasionally if I release a book or something.

As always, this is not a comprehensive list, but only includes all the books I have heard about so far.

If you have a fantasy novel you are self publishing in August or beyond, let me know by filling out THIS FORM, and I shall add it to the page. There are but 3 requirements:

1) It must be a self published fantasy novel.

2) It must have a Goodreads page.

3) It must have a cover.

1st September – Climbing the Ranks #3 by Tao Wong

Sci-Fantasy, Progression/Cultivation, LitRPG

Nothing beginner in this challenge.

For Arthur, climbing the beginner Tower of Malaysia was a way out, a chance to escape the grinding poverty of a future with no jobs. It’s a chance to make something of himself. Then he received a Clan seal, became a leader by accident, and most importantly, became responsible for others.

Now he’s finding his footing, cutting deals and making promises, fending off tongs, triads, and deep-rooted power players. What he isn’t expecting is that his designation as a Clan Head means something to the Tower too. All his research, all his planning, is going to go out the window as he faces the final challenge. One made all the more difficult by his new role.

Good news though, if he survives, there’s a lot to be gained.

If he survives.

1st September – System Architect: Integration by A. T. Hawkins

LitRPG

Eddy messed up.

Not the minor sort like flubbing a presentation at work but the really serious kind that ruins lives.

You see, Eddy wished to have a system while he was drunk out of his mind. Now he’s back in his past staring down the end of the world.

That system he wanted?

Well, now he’s got to build it himself and he’s only got 15 years to do it. To make matters worse, the changes he needs to make are expensive.

Of course, there’s a way.

All it will cost is making the impending disaster he caused even worse!

1st September – The Last Ballad of Hope (A Time of Dragons #3) by Philip C. Quaintrell

Epic Fantasy

DEATH CANNOT HOLD HIM—THAT’S WHAT THEY SAID.

AND THEY WERE RIGHT…Evil has been made manifest, returned from shadow and madness. Try as they might, those who would be heroes could not prevent the return of The Dark One.

In the shattering aftermath, the survivors have but one hunt down what cannot be killed. Cob, the ranger—the cursed—must find his quarry before the enemy makes his first move. By his side rides Androma, fearless and unyielding. They must succeed. To fail would doom the realm to a new war, a war without end.

But in a world slipping into darkness, not all hope is lost.

A time of dragons is yet to come. Joran Pendain must shoulder the weight of that destiny, but he need not shoulder it alone anymore. In the depths of Azad-guul, where only despair might breed, Joran’s path crossed with that of a dragon egg—his egg.

Theirs was not the only path to cross, however.

True to his word, Baelon Vos—Dragonlord—would make Joran a Rider worthy of legend—if he could survive the training. Baelon’s designs for the world have been years in the making, and Joran might just be the missing piece to bring it all together. Or bring it all down.

And beneath the waves, the ocean races stir, the currents swelling with revolution and the hope of freedom. Kitrana Voden, a battle maiden of the Swordsworn and proud Nimean, must find her way back to the people of Nimala before extinction drowns them all—before the oldest demon from the oldest world awakens from its slumber.

Above or below, it matters not to The Dark One. He is not afraid to be called evil. If evil could not be corrupted, bound, or destroyed, then he would gladly endure the title, if only to weed out the beasts that clothe themselves as men.

HE IS NOT THE CHOSEN ONE. HE IS NOT A HERO.

JUST A MAN—wHO REFUSED TO DIE.
